DETAILED INFORMATION FOR 2021 APPLICATIONS DURINGCOVID-19
Due to the current pandemic, all applications for 2021 Christmas Mother benefits will be taken by telephone.
If you received assistance in 2020, you will receive a postcard in the mail advising of your scheduled application date and time. PLEASE NOTE POSTCARDS WILL BE MAILED ON SEPTEMBER 17. Allow time for the postal service to deliver the postcard.
Please be prepared for your application interview by gathering all the information require before your scheduled time. We will gather information to include: your name as head of household, address, a list of all individuals living in your household, their ages and school attending, if applicable and their relationship to you. Please also have income information for EVERYONE living in the household. Income includes: wages, social security, SSI, TANF, WIC, unemployment, etc.
If you did not receive a postcard, please call (804) 556-3411 and leave a message with your contact information. Your call will be returned.
Once your phone interview is complete, you will be required to appear IN PERSON at the Goochland High School bus loop on the Saturday following your phone interview for DRIVE THROUGH verification of your identity, proof of residency and proof of income for everyone in your household. The drive through dates are scheduled for Saturday, October 16 and Saturday, October 23. Again, please be prepared. Please wear a MASK. If you do not appear to provide this information, your application will become invalid.
You will not receive wrapped gifts this year. Qualified applicants will receive a Wal-Mart gift card for each qualified person living in your household who meets the 2021 criteria for assistance.
You will receive a packed food box and a Food Lion gift card for perishable items.
You will receive a letter with your designated pickup time. DISTRIBUTION IS AT 2748 DOGTOWN ROAD ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
We will not take any face to face applications. NO EXCEPTIONS!
